Asphalt
was the best of companions for ten years. My husband got him
from
a shelter as a puppy because he wanted a dog who would go sailing with
us. To our surprise, Asphalt didn’t like water and hated our
boat. He had a huge personality – full or likes and
dislikes. In fact, he had more than a little of the Marley
qualities, both good and bad. Our food was never safe when he
was
anywhere around. He loved to sing, especially to music on the
TV
or radio. His favorite was TV show theme songs. We
would
mute the TV but he knew the time his favorites would come on and
watched the TV screen and sang even with the sound muted. He
would sternly tell off thunderstorms and firecrackers, daring them to
come any closer. When I would exercise in the living room, he would
climb onto the couch and supervise. Once he took on a sloth
that
crawled into our yard and after half an hour of sparing, they both came
away without injuries. Another time, he toyed with a boa for
a
long time before tiring of that game too. Although we have
other
dogs, the house is far too quiet now. Asphalt was very
special –
loyal, loving, and mischievous. We dearly miss him. |
![]() Morgan
was a
young adult when he was Trapped-Neutered-Released at the Casco
Viejo area. Some cats, we always remember
and Morgan
was one of them. After some time, he was brought in by an
European couple for first aid treatment. We were happy for
him. After several months, we went back to Casco Viejo to do
more
T-N-R and here came Morgan to say hello. He was skinny and
dirty,
which meant he was back on the streets. We decided
to bring
him back with us with the hope that somebody would adopt him.
Unfortunately most people want healthy kittens and Morgan was a
one-eye-adult. The whole team was rejoiced when Samuel and
Cheryl, who came to Spay/Panama not looking for a cat,
decided to
take Morgan home. Morgan gave them joy and he was a blessing
to
them. Cheryl and Samuel gave Morgan the opportunity to make
his
dreams come through, you see Morgan always wanted a home to be loved
and for him to love back. Sadly Morgan fell ill and
Samuel
and Cheryl brought him in. In less than 24 hours he went
downhill
and he left to heaven with no pain and happy because he had a mommy and
daddy. It almost seems that Morgan came back to us one last
time
to say that he will meet us at the Rainbow Bridge. |

Anabella

Today August 13, is 1 year after Leah left us in physical body, but she´ll always be with us. She was born on March 10, 2001 in Bocas del Toro, 1 month later I adopted her, and she was the best company I ever had. She was 6 years old, and she had a really happy life, full of love, friends, and people that just loved her, she was and will be the most special angel ever, she went everywhere with me, she used to love the mountains, rivers, beaches car rides and small animals, and she used to tell me all the ¨bochinches¨ everytime I arrived home from work...yes, she used to ¨talk¨ :) we´ll miss her forever. Sibila Ortiz Perigault |
